Modern Medicine or Allopathic Medicine - In the most simplest terms

Hey wonderful readers,

Today, I will be taking you through a small insight on Modern medicine or in other words, Allopathic Medicine. It is the most commonly and widely practiced medical system in the world and popular in the Health industry and common masses.

The other day I was having a conversation with one of my close friends and she was explaining to me about her kid's fever.

What did strike me was the significance of Allopathic medicines in our daily lives. Allopathic medicine, popularly known as Modern medicine has made great strides in recent years. It has a scientific base and evolved from continual research and experiment over the years. As we all know, Allopathic medicine is easy to consume. Moreover, it has a quick effect on our body because human body easily absorbs it.

Experiments in Allopathy led to widespread antibiotic use, pasteurization, vaccination, etc. which have helped to bring down and eradicate various diseases and help people with a sudden cure for even the most simplest of health issues. Allopathic medicine is easily available, highly practiced and researched and consumed by a dominant percentage around the globe.

Today, with the help of advanced technology and studies conducted all over the world, Allopathy doctors excel at treating life threatening diseases which was once believed to be incurable. Modern imaging identifies problems in the body even in early stages making it possible for the treatment to be effective. Broken bones are reset and damaged joints are replaced.

Major killers like Heart attack, hypertension, diabetes, asthma etc. are the resultant of fast food and stress in modern lifestyle. Lifestyle Medicine is a branch of Allopathy dealing with the study, prevention and treatment of such diseases. Surgery, in particular, has made an amazing advance. Thousands of doctors are being trained every year in India, and hundreds of hospitals set up.

To sum up the major two advantages of modern medicine are:
  • Improves health
  • Decreases mortality

The first merit of modern medicine is improving humanity health. Vitamin deficiency can be supplemented with tonic utilization, medicines for physical pain. The second benefit of modern medicine is decreasing mortality. Vaccination for diseases like smallpox, measles, malaria and other life threatening diseases. Widespread immunization lead to a considerable decline in infant mortality. Furthermore advance medical techniques, particularly diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging permit early detection and treatment of diseases, for instance, lung cancer, or tuberculosis helped in saving lives.

Prevention is always better than cure and it is important that early diagnosis of diseases or conditions are undertaken by every individual over the age of 25 considering the kind of lifestyle, stress and environment we live in.
